Garcia Hong Law is excited to announce our support of high school students pursuing a career in STEM through our sponsorship of the 2021 Talino STEM Scholarship given by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of North San Diego (FACC NSD). “Talino” in Tagalog means talent and intellect. FACC NSD’s Scholarship Program awards two $1,000 scholarships to high school students pursuing a college education in the STEM field.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, STEM occupations are growing at 24%, while other occupations are growing at 4%. STEM education helps to bridge the ethnic and gender gaps sometimes found in math and science fields.

The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors. Applications will be reviewed by the FACC NSD Board of Directors and the scholarship winner will be announced to the community on June 14, in a special ceremony.
