September 8, 2023 - San Diego, California. Garcia Hong Law successfully defeated an anti-SLAPP motion filed against our client's defamation lawsuit in San Diego today. Our client, a local moving company, filed a claim against a disgruntled customer who posted negative reviews on the company's Yelp and Google reviews.
Associate attorney Mark Simpliciano and Principal Valerie Garcia Hong prepared the opposition that convinced the Court that the customer's reviews were a private matter and that the moving company had a likelihood of prevailing on its defamation claim.
